Ccnp
Finally got CCNP today. I've been working on it off and on for almost 2 years now (Microsoft put out their new round in between). Took CIT for the 2nd time today.. found it far different than the first time. The first time was almost all BCRAN and theory. This time was almost all BCRAN and BSCI. My advice for those looking to take this exam: Review all of your books from past CCNP certification tests. You could get anything from any one of the exams. I got an IS-IS question for example (totally unexpected). They also changed the formatting a bit. I had a design scenario I'd expect in CCDA or ARCH, but in a troubleshooting aspect. All I can say for that is to follow my previous advice, there's no way to tell what you'll get. Almost nothing on theory, whereas the 1st time a good 30% of the exam was theory. Anyway, don't want to give a way too much... My company is forcing me to do IP Telephony certs next so that they can keep their IP Com partner cert. I'll let you guys know how those work out, but CCDP (ARCH) is on the backburner until the IPT stuff gets done. Hope everyone has a good holiday!

Books?
Hey Necro,
Congratulations, buddy - Though a bit belated!
BTW, what book(s) did you use? I found the CIT Exam Cram 2 book (by Sean Odom, no less) to contain all the stuff you mentioned in this and your previous post after your last attempt. It's nowhere near as easy-breezy as the Cisco Press thingy and seems to have gotten some good reviews on Amazon.com (for whatever that's worth).
I was thinking of reading up over the weekend and taking a shot sometime this week, but the thickness of the book (~350 pages) plus the CIT horror stories on this forum have made me lose much of my bravado.

Thanks for the support guys, I know a few of you have been watching my progess for quite a while on that one. Marathi, I only used the Cisco Press books. For CIT I actually dumped the questions that stumped me when I failed that first time and used the info to go back through my old CCNP books. I got the CIT tool info from the old CIT 500 series book (chapters 1 and 2 describe tools that the new series of books don't go into.. like BERT). I still had BSCI fresh in my head, so I reviewed BCRAN and BCMSN. The Press book had all the theory and model info in it. Combined I didn't have too much trouble the second time around, but it definitely took more prep than originally anticipated. I'm working on ARCH now and hope to try that one within the next month. Any tips for that one? I'm using the new Cisco Press book and I've got the flash card kit.
