Starting on CCNP

Hey everyone, I have to recert my CCNA in Aug. of next year. Instead of working on that Im thinking of working on my CCNP. Since my job I am a Network Admin. it covers way more now than Cisco so Im going to really have to brush up. My question is which test should I start with: BSCI, BCMSN,
BCRAN,CIT Thanks

This is a question that gets asked quite often. The answer can only come from you. What is your prior experience? Have you worked with one of the areas more than any other?

Most people seem to start with BSCI. This was the last one that I took (just worked out that way).

Some will say start with the tougher exam first, BSCI. While others say start with easier material, BCRAN.

In the end, there is no real right or wrong answer.

It depends on your objective
if you just .earn the cert then start with BCRAN
if for job advantg start with BSCI
if you are more a troubleshooter than a Network Integrator go for CIT

CCNP

I started with BCMSN, now I am studying for BSCI, then Remote Access, the CIT (troubleshooting). I deal with all the Switches and routers where I work so the BCMSN was easy for me and BSCI is routing. The hardest one for me will be Remote Access.

But like was stated before It is up to you and what you feel comfortable takng first.

I did the following.

BSCI
BCMSN
BCRAN
CIT
DESGN
ARCH

This was a very good progression because each set of books gave a generic understanding of what would be in the next test. Knowing routing before you cover the switching helped because the switching involved layer 3/4 switching. Routing/Switching/QOS where touched on in the BCRAN. Many of the topics in the BCRAN were covered in the CIT. All 4 of the CCNP tests helped with DESGN and helped solidify my understanding of "WHY" you would use the different type of CCNP topics. The same thing with the ARCH test.
