Newbe, sorry.. How do I hookup a DSL to a 2507?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I just picked up a Cisco 2507 router with hopes of learning CCNA.
I would like to hookup my DSL modem to the router so all computers can
access the internet. But I don't know how
Can I just plug it into one of the hub ports? if so how do I configure
the login for access?
Thanks
Wally

You will plug the modem into a switch on your network. Configure the
DSL/Cable modem your gateway.

Re: Newbe, sorry.. How do I hookup a DSL to a 2507?
Sorry for not replying sooner, I was away on job interviews.
I'm new at cisco, so I'm still a little unsure about things.
So if I understand this right. I can't hook my DSL modem up to my
Cisco 2507, I need a Switch like a cisco 1900 series. is this right.
I'm just making sure because originaly I was told I just had to hook
the DSL modem up to the BRI port, but suprise the 2507 doesn't have a
BRI port..
Thank you for your help.

You can try to setup a VPDN(Virtual Private Dialup Networking) if your
modem uses PPPOE for his encapsulation.
Which modem is it?the manufacture's website for information of his
encapsulation type.
And check the cisco website for the VPDN configuration.
Just plug the router to a hub/switch and plug the modem to one of the
hub/switch ports or ,in case there are 2 ETH interface plug one of them
to a hub/switch and one of them to the modem.
