Synergy on Tech TV
most of us have more computers than we have room right? well i do. yesterday on Screensavers on TechTV (mar 23) Sarah on her download of the day profiled a freeware program called synergy.
synergy is the same program used by WETA when working on the Lord of the Rings.
it has the ability to share a single keyboard and mouse with multiple systems.
she demo'ed the program which included moving the mouse seamlessly from one monitor to the other. it was totally cool~!
the only requirements was that the systems be networked together(something im sure we already have taken care of). in her demo she was cutting and pasting text from a linux box to a windows box.
i have that setup and i can tell you that up till now, i could not do that. so if you guys have this need now you can do it with ease.
heres a link to TechTV's site. you may need to sign up for free registration first if you havent already done so.

i have a kvm switch so it will be interesting to see how it works in that scenario. but this maybe a great reason to hook up a few more monitors.
