640-801 RFC's

Does the 640-801 really require you to memorize the rfc numbers for routing protocols?

The practice exam that comes with the Cisco Press CCNA Flash Cards seems to ask off-the-wall question. There are also questions with incorrect answers and a lab which does not allow you to enter the correct commands required to complete the lab.

Not at all ... no mention of RFCs on the test.I would however understand the TCP-IP rfc inside and out. Written by a wonderful guy name Jon Postel, God rest his soul.

Cool Thanks. The one practice exam asked for the private IP addressing scheme RFC, RIP v1 RFC, RIP v2 rfc etc. (which I now know). One less thing to remember.

The RFCs are an incredible source of info for understanding what was going in Postel's head when HE invented the internet.
