which is better

i am having an old PC pentium 3, 850 mhz processor. i want to upgrade the RAM from 64MB SDRAM (133mhz system bus) to 512 MB DDR RAM, my motherboard doesnot have a DDR slot, i will need to change my mother board also. however i am not in a mood to change the processor. will changing the mother board and the the ram effect the working of my computer. maximum of my worries are about the hangings of the computer.
thanks

dont quote me on this, but i am not aware of any P-3 boards that will use DDR.

the bus speed is simply to slow in most cases i would think anyway.
