I recently became a MCDBA myself with basically the same
background as you have.

For my work I use SQL-server and Windows 2000 on a regular
basis and i completed the certificationtrack in nearly 2
years.

With a lot of experience in Access and other
databaseprograms I wanted to prove my skills with a mcdba-
certification.

I found the technical exams the hardest (I took 215 and
216), especially the 216 was very hard since i didn't have
much technical experience with Windows 2000.

Be aware that most people (even experienced
systemadministrators) find the 216 exam the hardest to
take.

In my opinion however, it can never harm to have a
certification, no matter what certification.
