Having trouble when I turn on system .

My motherboard is a ECS KT600-A
When I start up with the ram and CPU in I get power and
then it just shuts off does anyone have any suggestions?

check the capacvitors on the mobo. If they are swollen- even slightly, it
is toast. The tops of the caps need to be perfectly flat.

Check for a stuck reset switch.

How long do you keep power for?

I had a problem with a bad switch (on/off), where the actual button stuck in
when pressed (as normal). It powered on the computer, but moved back
outward enough so that the comp registered it as a shut off.

My friend's PC power switch will sometimes stick in long enough to
register as a power-down after a power-on.
