if you are going to dump and all that, fine, do it, but atleast be COMPETENT about it...

my god... I have already know that this thing with the loop must be a NEW question just added to dump material xyz... but please... for god's sake... how hard is it to look it up... or even GUESS...

loop between switches... hhmmm ROUTING? *shrug*

and what really gets me is that you guys can't even cheat! you need to be spoonfed answers... Some ppl are resourceful, they find ways to take a short cut, fine and all that... but when that same answer is asked not a few days ago and answered and you still post a question about it... exactly what do you expect? if you are going to dump effectively, atleast follow the board!!!

I already know way more about this exam than most ppl who wants to cheat their way through and I have no interest other than to stay current with this board (which is non dump) and be occassionaly helpful.

sigh, shrug, sniff, shake head, whatever. everytime this board looks halfway hopeful, it get kick right back into gimpville.

Mikop, I can't say I've always agreed with you, sometimes bashed you myself. But, I would have to agree with you this time. I find myself checking in fewer and fewer times a day or week due to the same questions being asked and the smae ansers being given, over and over. I personally want to learn this stuff and besides having a job, family, and other responsibilities, I need to find time to study. I have plenty of questions but can't waste if it's going to be the same thing every day. If you are going to dump find another site and leave this one to those who want the knowledge and not just the letters behind their name.

The title "amused observation" is appropriate as I see it. I am tickled when people brag about getting 850+ on CCNA and then say something to the effect of "I only studied for two weeks". Are we supposed to be impressed? I would be impressed if any of those actually got a decent job.

I studied for CCNA for something like six weeks, for many hours each day and I think passed by the skin of my teeth. At recent job interviews I was asked about some routing fundamentals (mainly how to configure a router) but I had to DEMONSTRATE my ability.

We have a CCNA in our firm who studied brain dumps to get it and he can't even do basic things. He is not getting paid any more for it. I wonder why he wasted so much money for nothing.

As for those trying ot get into the business-the certifications alone will not do much for you, I can assure you of that so go ahead and get as many as you can if you want. You WILL be expected to perform to the level and probably won't even get a chance to try unless you can convince the hiring manager that you know what the heck you are doing. The guys who hire for IT positions are IT geeks. Trust me, they know if YOU KNOW.

This is the point I have been trying to make.

I come for a prominently administrative background and knew that to have any chance with a career in routing and WAN networking I would need to have more than just the certificate.

So, I purchased switches and routers from e-bay, brought the Sybex and Cisco press books (Both helpful in different areas) and with my homepage set to Cisco's search page; I started to learn.

After five months of revisions, hands on and a lot of dedication I passed the CCNA, without cheating, no dumps and no knowledge of what to expect in the exam besides simulation questions and a lot of subnetting.

Having started on the new CCDA a month ago I am dedicating the same period of revision for this exam.

WAN networking is like playing an instrument, it is something you will never master but only get better with after time and experience.

Like ANDRONA pointed out, get past the interview on what the dumps teach you; then we will be impressed.

The cert is worthless unless you know what you are talking about.

Some people (myself included) just need an eye opener to show them that the paper doesn't matter if you can't do it. My eye-opener was when one of my teachers who worked for MS gave us a tour of their facility and a taste of what their interviews consist of. I used a shady study guide for one of my resources on one of my first exams. After the demonstration of the MS interview process was like, I had to question what I really knew. Even though I knew the subject and could have done it without it, it damaged my confidence which is far worse than not getting a job IMHO. All of us need a XXXXX slapping when were starting out instead of enablers (advertisements for dumps, people giving answers on a board, etc.)
