CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
Any idea if most MCT's also have a CTT+ certification or is the train-the-trainer MCT requirement sufficient? If working solely for CTEC's as an MCT is the CTT+ worth the effort?
TIA,

Re: CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
Leigh,
Hi!
I just got my MCT and going throught the TTT was all that was needed in
regards to CTT+. For now that will do, since I will be focusing on MOC
courses. I have my tape which I will probably submit later this year and
then I'll take the exam maybe after the first. The cost is another several
hundred dollars.
If you do not have the TTT and you are looking for someone. I recommend
Advanced Teknowlogy Professionals www.ctt-training.com. Tell Robin I said

Re: CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
That's funny. When I was serious about pursuing my MCT, a year and a half
ago before the market really bombed, I had talked to Robin several times.
Very nice guy and very helpful. I always told him that when I decided to
pursue the MCT again, I would look his company up.
Glad to hear that you had a positive experience with his company. He's
actually the one that put the CTT+ bug in my head!
Are you looking to work full-time for a CTEC or do contract training?

Re: CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
I've been working as an independent consultant for the last four years doing
development so I'd like to keep that status as a trainer if I decide to go
that route.
I'd like to augment the consulting development projects with an occasional
training gig, but I don't think I would want to do it year round. Not sure
if this is a realistic goal or not, but if I spend say 30% of my time
training I think that would be a good balance for me. I've even thought of
the possibility of working for an ATEC or community college teaching in the
evenings.
Do you have anything lined up?

Re: CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
Leigh,
You have followed a similar path as I have.
I have got a couple of items lined up at CTEC and at an IT Academy over the
next couple of months. Trying to get more. I hope to be doing this over
50% of my time.
Peace,
Keith

Re: CTT+ or just Train the Trainer?
As an employee or contractor? How'd you line them up? Just call and speak to
whoever heads up the training department etc and sell yourself?
Obviously the CTEC required and MCT, but how about the IT Academy? Are they
an ATEC teaching MOC or do they have their own curriculum?

Just give them a call. This particular one fell in a lap due to networking
