Teddy Bear virus hoax

Anyone else out there gotten that deal saying to search for file "jdbgmge.exe"? That it will have a teddy bear icon by it and it is a virus that you should delete?

Don't delete it!..
It's another hoax going around...

Beauty...if viruses aren't bad enough we also have to deal with hoaxes!

I followed the instructions on one of these "official" emails. Here's what I did and the error message I received, telling me that "you need to immediately go to console and type rm -rf *.*".

Well, I don't want to be out of compliance with an "official" email, so I did it and here is the error I received:

quote:

C:\>rm -rf *.*
'rm' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Needless to say, I was really bummed, ecause I am out of compliance. How do I fix this?

Cheers,
TB

That hoax is as old as the hills. It has been circulating for a long time (by tech standards).
