Anyone know how to setup a home network mantually in in window xp? I have
two computers already connected and they are sharing internet access
already, but can't set up to share folders, drives, and printers between the
two computer. I clicked on my network place icon, I can't seem to see the
other computer. I went to a home network wizard but the wizard said there
is some kind of problem, and tell me to setup the network mantually.

Right click on Network Place and select Properties. You will want to see
Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing for Micorsoft
Networks and TCP/IP all there and selected.
On your machines you will also need to check that you have shared folders.
In TCP/IP you will need to ensure that both machines have subnet mask that
matches.

These are checked automatically already.

Done that with several folder put on shared.

I found a subnet mask number on my machine and tried to type the same number
into the other machine, but I also put the my machine ip address in the ip
promp also. Is this the correct way to do it? do I need to put my ip
address there? done them all, but they don't work. Please help!

OK - the error message you were getting. Was that on one or both of them?

I had a similar problem yesterday afternoon. Using the wizard on the one
machine that it worked on and making the disk helped solve the issue.
Usually I would have done it manually, but I was snowed under with the
blaster worm and kind of wanted to get my backlog out of the way before the
weekend.

Ok - try running the wizard on the other one - then make the disk on that
one and go to the one with the error message and run it there.

Honestly, with XP and the wizards it can be a pain, however without seeing
all of your TCP/IP figures it is really difficult to guess.
