70-218 Q of the Day Monday 8/11
Here's a good one for you, I hope.
The H.323 Gatekeeper includes a method for resolving a user’s alias to an IP address, when referenced. Which component of the H.323 Gatekeeper provides this function?
A)T-120 standard
B)Domain Name Server
C)Registration database
D)H.323 Call Control
Good luck! See you tomorrow!

And the answer is....

C)Registration database
The registration database does register each client who uses the Gatekeeper, provided that defined rules will allow the user access. It then will do the alias to IP address resolution that is necessary. T-120 is another defined standard for real-time, multi-point data connections and conferencing. It does not provide alias to IP address resolution. DNS is not responsible for the alias to IP address resolution for H.323. It is, however involved when you must define port, protocol and FQDN of another H.323 server. H.323 Call Control is part of the H.323 Protocol Rule definition.
H.323 is an International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standard that provides specification for computers, equipment, and services for multimedia communication over networks that do not provide a guaranteed quality of service.
Well done! I guess I can admit it now. This question is really from 70-227, Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000. Just had to see who was on their toes.
