Something added additional Network Adapters
Last week I had a 2000 Pro machine that wound no longer boot up
Using /sos in the boot.ini, I could see all of the drivers load but the
machine would not start normally nor in safe mode with networking. I
did start in safe mode where I noted about 6 entries below the original
network adapter that is in my base images. I could find nothing else
wrong. After a long period of time I had to use Ghost to replace the
image and the machine now runs fine.
A couple of days later we had a different machine with the same situation.
Has anyone ever experience anything like this?
Bye the way, we did have had a virus in house called Backdoor Roxy this
week but I can find no tie to the virus. We run a managed version of
Norton Corporate edition.
