Worth getting CTT+ on way to MCT?
I'm thinking about obtaining my MCT and was wondering if it's worth the extra time and money to not only take the required train-the-trainer required, but to also take one that prepares you for the CTT+ as well.
Is it even worth pursuing the CTT+ or is the MCT alone enough?
Thanks...

Re: Worth getting CTT+ on way to MCT?
That all depends. Are you planning on teaching non-Microsoft subjects such as A+? If so, you may find the CTT+ to be beneficial. I have a CTT+ and I have taught CompTIA and Microsoft Certification courses. The only place I can't teach is a Certified Microsoft Training Center - but I can teach at regular schools that teach Microsoft subjects.

Re: Worth getting CTT+ on way to MCT?
I hadn't really thought about teaching outside of the Microsoft CTEC's and the MOC. However, it may not be a bad idea, especially with the way the market is...
I certainly don't plan on teaching non-MS subjects such as A+ though. So perhaps if I plan on staying within the MOC arena, the CTT+ becomes less important? Only CTEC's or ATEC's can teach MOC from what I understand correct?
When you say that you teach MS subjects at schools, are these schools using the MS MOC and are they ATEC's or are they teaching MS subjects using their own curriculum?
Appreciate the insights...

Re: Worth getting CTT+ on way to MCT?
Hi Leigh,
Some of the schools I've taught at used their own curriculum, and some had me prepare lessons out of a particular textbook. Quite often I found that certain schools had certain texts they wanted used for their courses - and I worked from that. I've actually never taught with the MOC - never worked for a school that used it.

Re: Worth getting CTT+ on way to MCT?
Sorry for the late response; been on vacation...
So in these scenarios where you're not teaching the MOC, do you think that the CTT+ would be a benefit. At least from getting your foot in the door especially with no prior teaching/training experience?
