Networking Hypotheticals
If I have two computers, both with Gigabit Ethernet cards, and connect them
with Cat 6 cable, at what speed will this network run (10mb/s,100 mb/s,1000
mb/s). Also, same scenario except, I connect the computers with a USB 2.0
cable instead of using a NIC and a Cat 6 cable (will this even work as a
network?).

As for the gigabit connection; it depends on the environment, but ideally it
should run at the fastest speed possible (ie: 1000 mbs). Unless you manually
set the speed of each NIC. As for USB 2.0 I've never heard of a network
connection through USB. If it's possible it would run at around roughly
400-480 mbs.
