A good MCSE book

I've got a fair amount of admin experience on Linux (webserver setup, user
accounts, proxys, some networking) and have done networking and security
courses in college. I'm looking to get an MCSE reasonably fast to help with
the job hunting. I've worked in office environments before where I've done
some windows admin stuff, but not a whole lot.

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any good book(s) or websites I can
read up on before doing the exams, I haven't really any idea of what the
exams are like.

I'm thinking of doing 70-220 (secure network), 70-224 (Exchange 2000) and
70-088 (administering MS Proxy server) alongside the usual ones.

Thanks

You can try the relevant Amazon.com browse lists for the specific exams via..

Re: A good MCSE book

Check out O'Reilly's MCSE in a Nutshell book. You seem like you already have the Windows and (*)*n*x experience.

The O'Reilly book is for people who already have the knowledge/experience, they just need to take the MCSE exams.

If you get any of the books suggested above, you'll get 70% unneeded information (ie "DNS is a hierarchical namespace, introduced in RFC#### blah blah blah" Most MCSE books assume little to no knowledge.

Hey Bryan,

Sorry to tell you that 70-088 (Proxy Server) retired at the end of
June 2003. You may want to do 70-227 (ISA Server) instead.

Cheers,
AC
