Has anyone who has gained the A+ certification got a position in I.T of the
back of this?If so what sort of role was it?

if you want a position in I.T. your better solution is to get a four year
degree in Comp. Science, THEN worry about industry certifications. A+, at
its best, would land you a job at Best Buy or CompUSA fixing machines. But
with the extremely high number of people who just braindump or A+ for Idiots
their way into the certification it's value in even that arena has dwindled
to nil. Experience and education are the 2 keys to working in IT. There is
no fast track to this kind of job.

There was a time where A+ meant something..now its pretty much relegated to
what a learners permit for driving is. Doesn't really count for much but
allows you to get your butt behind the wheel.

The below is no joke. I've got a degree in Computer Science and the best job
I've been able to land is as a PC/Network Technician and I don't even have my
A+ yet.

A+ has always been an entry level cert, so the only jobs you will be entry-level.

But more to the point, A+ is a great stepping stone for other certs.
