OLAP exam for SQL 2000

Does anyone know if Microsoft will be making SQL Server
2000 OLAP exam available anytime?

Thanks.

It's been a while since I've seen them comment on it, but last I heard they
had no plans to develop a new OLAP exam.

Re: OLAP exam for SQL 2000

What bemuses is that while Microsoft continues to offer
exam 70-019 (Designing and Implementing Data Warehouses
with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0), it has not upgraded this
exam to offer a SQL Server 2000 equivalent.

When Microsoft makes moves such as this, it bring out the
pessimist in me to think if Microsoft is committed to
continue their efforts in supporting Analysis Service for
SQL Server.

Comments.....

I think it's a bit strange too. I assume it's not a very popular exam, and
most of it is still applicable to SQL 2000 AS. But I still thought they'd
create a new exam version after 228 and 229. It will be interesting to see
what happens when the SQL 7 design & admin exams are retired in a year or
two (just a guess).

Re: OLAP exam for SQL 2000

Bill G and other Microsoft honchos have been talking a lot about putting
datamining and OLAP on the desktop (see for example this press release), so
I expect a major push in that direction when the next version of SQL Server
is released.

I wouldn't be surprised if certification for the next SQL Server release
will have two levels (similar to MCAD/MCSD and MCSA/MCSE) and OLAP/Data
Warehousing will be a core exam for the higher level.
