Interesting. I don't know that morale in IT is any lower relative to other industries/careers. I have one friend that recently left IT, not because of layoffs, rather because they are tired of the continual workload, always being on call, and working with IT techs that their corps hired that don't know anything (So the workload gets shifted even more to the techs that can do the job.) I have a couple other friends that have pondered leaving this game. Can't say I haven't thought about it myself a couple times for similar reasons, but my company is finally coming to the end of two years worth of heavy-duty projects, so I'm thinking the workload may decrease a bit.
