Re: Passed 70-219 today

That is great. So now all Microsoft has to do to see what a cheating fool you
are is to look at their exam results for 3/17/2003 and see who scored a proud
797 with the same case files.

Congrats on your PAPER MCSE!!!

Aloha

You can read whatever you want. Study guides that duplicate actual exam
questions is cheating.

Re: Passed 70-219 today

It may not be illegal but when it comes down to actually using what you have
learnt, good luck. Those case studies are good examples but just that
examples. The real world you need real knowledge and a good understanding
of the material.

Memorizing case studies, exams, cheat sheets are not gonna help you.

Good luck to you and more to your future employer.

And don't say you do know your stuff, if you really did you would have known
you don't need a cheat sheet to pass.

Re: Passed 70-219 today

Testking is located in Pakistan, currently outside of Microsoft's legal
reach. There is no question however that they sell braindumps.

I am always amazed at the numbers of people that respond very strongly
to people who have passed an exam using braindumps, cheat sheets, and
example tests, whatever....

First of all most of the MS exams are almost worthless, and the exam
security is a laugh.... Most companies who publish books and exam
preparation material still manage to supply any student with enough
material that is very similar to the actual exam, and I am not going
to go into how they manage to do that. So the material is available
whatever way you cut it!

Secondly, most of the study and testing is not suited for real world
situations, it is just a test of knowledge and a really badly designed
one at that... In the university when I was doing the engineering
classes, we would have instructors which were satisfied with teaching
the curriculum, and then ask questions similar to the ones in the
books and other reference material, but not really deep questions that
forced you to think, and deal with a new situation.. Unfortunately you
had to memorize some of the formulas, etc for their exams (not open
book exam).... There were also other instructors who were going deep
into the material, and giving "open-book" exams where you are allowed
to bring whatever books, reference material you wanted with the
exception of exam questions and their solutions from previous years'
exams.... If you did not understand the material, you can bring
anything to the exam but it wouldn't help much. You had to think and
sometimes be creative, interpreting questions, and even justifying
your position/interpretation before going into the solution of a
problem, otherwise you would get only a partial credit for the
answer... Now tell me which approach of the two different types of
teaching and testing is better.. The first one forces you to cheat
sheets, brain dumps, and similar... The other forces you to learn the
stuff.. You can still make use of the cheat sheets and brain dumps,
because they are another method to supplement your studies, and easy
methods to remember something quickly (as long as you understand the
material). But without an understanding of the material they will not
take you very far in the second type of study/exam situation or real
life!

The way I see it it is a person's own responsibility how he approaches
his stufy and exam...

I could hardly fault anybody to use any means (incuding cheat sheets,
brain dumps, etc), because they are part of the study strategy, and a
means to an end... Since MS seems not to care about their
certification credibility, and whatever you learn while studying for
MCSE exams is not real-life applicable, can someone tell me really the
worth of the certification... It is even worse now, because the time
to introduce a new product or version is so short, most of us are
trying to play catch up, what with all the work, projetcs, studying,
and this and that... You need 36 hr days, so that you can work 12 hrs,
study 8 hrs, and rest for 8 hrs, and have some kind of social life in
the remaining 8 hrs...
Furthermore people that have the experience with the product (working
day-in-day-out) sometimes fail these exams, and this is another
pointer to how relevant the exams results are to the knowledge and
experience of the people....

I think, it is not really so important that you pass or fail an
exam... The most important is whether you know your stuff, or making
an effort to learn/know your stuff and how far have you progressed if
you are still learning it... The exams and certification is, at this
moment, just an annoying hassle that you have to somehow get through!

Another point is that in the workplace, the certification may not
ammount to anything after a while, because eventually the paper MCSE
will not be able to keep up his side of the deal, whereas anybody with
the right experience, knowledge, and attitude will be able to display
his/her qualities!

Anways, this is my 2 cents for what it's worth...

Sincerely,
