How to monitor load on a 7204?
Anyone know how I can monitor the load on a 7204 router?
Both locally - eg: a 'show load' type command
And remotely - eg: via snmp?
Thanks,
Chris

I use MRTG, a great tool!

Yeah, I use MRTG for the throughput on each port, but what about the CPU &
Memory useage on the router, how can I monitor that using MRTG or similar?
Thanks,
Chris

In article <b4t2bh$etl$1@localhost.localdomain>,
chris@NO.SPAM.PLEASE.caladan.net says...

MRTG will map anything. It just defaults to interface stats. You just
have to put in the right string and presto you're done. Search for
sample configs over at comp.dcom.net-management

Re: How to monitor load on a 7204?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
use the 'show processes' command to see the CPU Utilization
use the 'show mem sum' command to see memory usage
use the 'show interface' command to see the throughput on that interface.
You will get input and output rates for the past 5 min. in bits/sec you can
do the calc for Kbps/sec.
Hope this helps.

you can still use mrtg and just modify the MIB that you pull...
