Hi guys, been studying hard but have a couple of questions. I read somewhere to remember to click on start in the MMC simms before you exit..makes sense, but I don't think this is the case in all situations. Any thoughts? Also, I read that if you don't remember Exactly which property tab to click on at first, and click around to look for it, that will count against you. Makes sense too, but if you end up with the correct result, I think that should count. I'll be checking back later. Going to study. Thanks much!!

Have not heard about the "click around" thing but there is a probem w/IISb 4.0 TEST SIMULATIONS. If you click console--exit on the test, it will BSOD. The test tech will restart the computer, you get what ever you got for that sim, and continue to the next question. DO NOT CLOSE THE MMC IN THE SIM AFTER YOU FINISH. Microsoft is aware of this and you will (should) get credit for the answer by leaving the MMC open after you finish the SIM. Test Admin will give you that warning when you start the test. I have heard about starting a stopped service, but I am not sure.

I took the test on Friday, 12/1. I had 6 simms and did not encounter the problems you are talking about at all. I almost passed but hadn't studied as much as I needed for this one.

How do you know about this problem? I have checked on several boards today and no one has mentioned it. Seems like someone else should know about this.

Be sure to verify that the IIS service that you're working on is started before you leave the Sim. It will either say (stopped) or nothing at all, which indicates started. You can also right-click the service in question and if the start option is grayed out it's started, if not click start before you exit. I've heard that multiple mouse clicks count against you. Which I understand that if you know the answer, you shouldn't have to search the tabs.

During my exam I became real concerned after noticing that all of the other websites and ftp sites were not started, but I figured that I better only mess with what I was told to and forget about the other sites. It worked for me. So I suggest that you only make sure that the website or directory that you are working with is started before exiting the MMC. Hope that helps and good luck.

I'm interested in knowing if anyone else out there has encountered the "Do not exit the MMC Console" situation that gksmith had (see several posts above). Do you think it was maybe a problem with your testing site? I am planning on taking this test this week and now I'm wondering if I should exit the console or not.

Thanks J, I will take your advice. I'm retaking the exam today at 1:30 Houston time. Will get back and let yall know if I had any strange problems. Feel much better prepared today after 2 days of pretty solid study.

I didn't have any problems yesterday with the MMC.

Also, if you are concerned that you'be been "clicking around" too much, then mark the question. You can do it again, but, you have to do the whole sim again, it says your previous answer will be disgarded.
