Practice Tests

I've seen people recommend practice tests from ddctraining.com as well as Certipoint. I noticed the price is a bit higher for dcctraining's one and was wondering if there was a difference. If I read it right, dcctraining's are $25 each or $75 for all..(I think?) and Centripoints is $15-20 for all practice tests?

And I assume these didn't help prepare those for the macros and such on the Expert Word test and apparently one does not cover Outlook 2002?

Any input would be very helpful!! I don't want to spend $75 when I can get the same thing for $15.

Thanks!

Post MOUS Examination

Hello Everyone..I'm new in here..I'm planning to take my MOUS exam in a few months time..already started some courses..I was just wondering if anyone can help me find practice exams..I have just gone through the demos in here..questions are too little though..is there any other source? Do we usually take the test for each application seperately or all exams at the end? Appreciate your reply very much!

It would be best to take only one exam at a time. They are exhausting. Since each is 45 minutes in length, you would not want to schedule all for the same day.

I have only taken WORD and EXCEL. It is easy to get some items (tables) confused if you are not concentrating on just one area at a time.

Good Luck!

P.S. I have used the Certiport practice test for WORD 2002. It was good for testing you on items you may not know, but the format is not like the actual exam. The practice test is one item - one anwer. The actual exam in one screen--three to five actions required. Also, the feedback from the exam is limited to only a percentage correct on an objective. You are really clueless as to what specifically was missed.

Practice Tests

I wish I did. I found your post while trying to find some info on practice tests. You can't even buy a good one.

I teach a class of high school seniors who are trying to pass the MOS WORD2002. Only four are testing. This will be their 3rd attempt. I barely passed it myself, and it is only the CORE test.

One problem is that they had to switch from Office97 to XP. I think it would be better not having to unlearn some previous actions. The 97 exam was much easier. I scored near perfect on that one.

All I can say is be sure you know all the objectives. Find a good book on MOS specifically that will help you practice the objectives or know what they are.

When you take the exam--DETAILS--read for DETAILS.

Good luck. (By the way, my students are taking an exam on March 28 which is a Friday. CertiPort (I guess) is offering something called "No Fear Friday" where you get a voucher to retake the test if you fail. I told them to go slowly and pay close attention to the items covered. We will then brainstorm and go back to take it again (that is if they don't make it this time). No risk.

Exclamation no fear friday

Forgot to mention that "No Fear Friday" is only for March.

Also, you can usually buy a Certiport practice test through the testing center you will use.

In my opinion the Certiport practice exam is a joke. I got a 100% on it but failed the "real thing".

Lightbulb Don't waste your time

Hey, don't waste your time browsing the WEB for free practise exams! They all are first hard to find, and second - very stupid! And that's because they are free!
You habe a great resource just on your PC! Open Word (or Excel), press F1 and ask a question! Everything is in there! Create menus, use macros, assign macros to a menu - is that difficult? If you are thinking, that to assign macro to a new created menu, you are not for Excel XP. What about PivotTables? Custom number formats? Filters, SubTotals, Import data, Use GoalSeek, 3D Formulas, Lookup formulas?

Here are some great resources, that can save you great time:
Office XP Inside out
Excel Formulas
Access XP Inside Out
Access XP Bible (www.databasecreations.com)
Software from Learn2.com

For practice exams visit www.MeasureUp.com

So is that helping?
Good luck!
