Linux "Newbie" Questions

What are some good books a Linux "newbie"
like myself can use to gain some in-depth
knowledge of it?

I use Red Hat 8.0 and Mandrake 8.0 if
that matters. Thanks!

And there's so many more. Also it's probably a good idea to get a book geared toward your particular distro; for insatnce, Red Hat Linux 8.0 Bible if you use Red Hat 8.0.

"Running Linux" should provide a good start. Once you have a handle on that material most of O'Reilly's books would be fair game.
