Jean Andrews book?
I am scheduled to take the Core test on Friday - nervous as hell. The place I'm taking the course at, gave us this book
Author - Jean Andrews
Publisher - Thomson / Course Technology.
What do you guys think of this book. I am taking all the online practice tests that I can as well. I have little hardware experience.
Will I be okay with the course, book and the practice tests?

Never even heard of the book.
If you are scoring 90% or better on the practice tests you're probably ok. I never took a course on A+.

For an entry-level computer technician, the book is an acceptable learning tool for the A+ hardware exam. I've taught A+ certification with it.
As you gear up for your test, here's my two cents.
It's tough for a computer book to be excellent in these three areas: clear yet technically accurate explanation of concepts and procedures, certification exam need-to-know stuff, and a bench reference when you're working on PCs.
What's the best book? The one that's the best fit with your current level of knowledge and learning style.
Practice tests that you verify the answers are a nice tool to drill on fundamentals. Experience is always helpful. Discussion boards such as these help you obtain legitimate info about test quirks (crappy motherboard diagrams, "school" solutions to computer problems, etc) so you are prepared to deal with them.
It all comes down to preparation. When you are properly prepared, it builds confidence, reduces test anxiety, and gives you victories you can draw more inspiration from.
Hope this helps.
