Planning for the future
Good people of the Forum,
I am planning my certification track(s) for the next 12 months and beyond.
My plan: A+, Network+, MCP, MSCA, Sercurity+ and then the Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) or Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA). I cannot find much info on SCNP(salary, jobs etc). My ultimate goal is the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). I’ve taken the courses and have hands on for 4 out of 5 certs and have blocked dates for testing. My question is, does this look like a good plan for the future?
Thanks

Hello,
Yes that looks like a great plan. Today's economy calls for diversification which is seen in your plan. The days past of having an employee for every single IT/IS system is gone. Now, companies want their tech folk to be the "Jack of all Trades" knowing something about everything.
Also, since you have a written, well defined plan, you are now ahead of 90% of the people that live in america. Seriously. Think about it, you can't make a long trip without a map. So many people drive off the hood of their car.
You go ! This forum is the best place where minds across the world link up to share ideas, cool links and plans - Welcome !!!!

gr8khanh,
that's a good plan indeed...
i tried it myself (since last year) to learn new things and it pays off...
remember time management is always the key in learning new things...
cheers

First, it make more than 12 months to achieve them.
Second, some certificatino requried employee letter. If you don't have a job and only certification after another. U might not eligible for some certifications.
Everybody want security, but security go with experience not certification.
