Dear colleagues,

I am having a proble with a dell motherboard PIII. When I powered it, it was on, but refused to display that on screen. I have tried all I could to make it come up,. but all proved abortive.
What else can I do

You could assume that it is the video card if everything else seems normal (No beep codes). By a dell PC, I am also assuming the video is onboard. If this is the case, I would recommend tracking down the documentation for your BIOS (screenshots would be extremely helpful). After the new video card is installed (probably a PCI video card), you would have to boot up the machine and access the BIOS blindly. This is where the screenshots would come in help. Follw the screenshots to where the Video adapter option is and switch it from onboard to PCI. I have used this method before and although it is not the funest, it is still effective. I apologize if any of my assumptions were incorrect or if there is a much easier method.

Bad RAM or no RAM will cause a black screen.

Was the video working before you replaced the motherboard?

What led you to replace the motherboard in the first place?

Are you sure you plugged in all of the power cables back on the motherboard?

Did you flash the BIOS when you installed the new motherboard?

Is the video onboard or through a video card?

Are you sure your monitor and cable are good?
