Dual Video output with a TNT2 Pro and a Rage 2x?

| My brother just gave me his old eMachines eTower 466i. It has an integrated AGP ATI Rage 2x Turbo. Along with it he gave me an extra monitor and an old PCI TNT2 Pro.
As far as i know the TNT2 Pro is a better videocard and i would REALLY like to do a dual monitor setup with the TNT2 as my primary card and the Rage as my second card.
However...
When i insert the card an boot to windows 98se, windows just uses my Rage as normal and it doesn't even know that the TNT2 is there.
When i disable the onboard AGP there the monitor doesn't function and the computer gives me a beep code and i have no clue how to tell what they mean.
When i just take the jumpers off of the motherboard it just boots to windows without detecting the TNT2.
So is there any way i can get my TNT2 to work? Are the cards simply not compatible?

| It should work.
Try another PCI-Slot, remove something you don't need for now and see...make sure, that TNT is good, try in another machine.
I did a computer with five Videocards, all different brands, and they all worked.
Once working and the Drivers installed, you can choose which one is your primary card.

| I tried the other PCI slot (There are two PCI slots and two ISA slots) and it didn't seem to help. The card works fine in my Pentium 2.
When my brother gave me the computer he had the TNT2 in it. It worked fine (With the onboard card disabled) for about a day and now it wont work in that computer. Windows wont even detect it. Why it does this i do not know...
It works fine in my P2... |
