| Does anyone know how to get a USB 2.0 device to work on a USB 1.0 port in Windows XP.
I bought a Sandisk Cruzer mini 256 MB drive and Windows XP says it will function at a reduced speed but in Device Manager it just gets listed as an Unknown device with no driver. No drivers are needed under XP though.
I know the disk works on the same computer running Windows 2000. Any ideas? | |

| Go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers. | |

| LOL... there are no drivers for it under Windows XP. Anyways, I fixed the problem with a reinstallation of the OS. | |

| Yes, there are drivers for it in XP. Every device must have a driver in order to operate. It just so happens that Windows XP has built-in drivers for USB mass storage devices. The generic drivers however do not always work with every single device. And your problem was more than likely caused by a corrupt or missing device driver. LOL. | |

| Yes most likely a corrupt USBSTOR.sys file but even copying that from a working system didn't help it. Anyways, as long as the problem is fixed, I can breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't a waste of money. | |
