| Some Customers of mine dropped off their Machines because they can't run Doom 3 without lag or have issues with Frame-rates and poor performance.
Anything less than a P4 2.8 or Athlon XP 2800 i tell them to upgrade the Motherboard and Videocard.
Doom 3 seems to run really nice on the new PCI-Express Videocards.
How about your Experience?
Let me know, how good the Game runs.
(for comparison, one of my clients pulls 18000+ points on 3DMark 2003 and still can't get Doom 3 to run perfect)
Let's hear about your gripes. | |

| I just upgraded a Pentium 2.6 with a Gforce 440 (64 megs) and 512 megs of ram.
This thing would barely run Doom3 on the minimum settings, at 640X480.
I added a gig of DDR PC 4000 and a ATI 9800 Pro, ( i would have gone with the XT, but money was the problem)and the Game runs somewhat smooth on "high" (1024X768),a little sluggish at "ultra-high".
I tested the machine with 3DMark 2003:
Before upgrade: 98 Points
After Upgrade : 5560 Points
Of course, i did the regular Tune-up like cleaning Hard drives, defragging, moving Page-file, and so on.
