| Hi,
In our network all the Windows 2000 getting the following error message once in a day or twice. Then it engaged all memory and disturbing the operation. So we should restart the computer to back to the normal operation. The Norton Antivirus did not alert for virus. Also, the Norton is not functional after this error message.
Do you know Any solution for this?
[Svchost.exe -App. Error.
“The instruction at “0x77fc9ba0” referenced memory at “0x7c54144c”. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program. OK ]

| Yes you are suffering from worm droppings. Start the system in safe mode and norton will find it if you have the most upto date data file. Svchost can't be touched in normal mode.
To search for yourself, you have another program called svchost.exe that is not in the normal directory. I forgot where but you can just search and it will not be in the obvious place. Depending on the version you may have an analog program that watches and recreates it some time later. Your registry probably has references to start it also.

| Use
some other Antivirus product
so you wont get thease worms on to you´re machines. Like
F-prot
it wont need as much of you´re system recources as Norton does.

| Boot up into Safemode with Networking
Then go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
After you get rid of the virus, boot up as normal and install all M$ critical updates.

| Hi,
Thanks for the help.
I found the virus in the Server. The virus name is DONK.
I did scan with Norton.
The Online scanning is not advisable, because most of them are Spywares. They can see our data.
Thanks and Regards, |
