| I have 2 linksys routers BEFW11S4 V4 up to date on bios updates.
My config:
Router 1: 192.168.1.1 (using all 4 ports -> port 3 goes to "router 2"
Router 2: 192.168.2.1 (Router 1 WAN link goes to router 1)
I can get to the internet from being on either segment.
I can ping from 192.168.2.100 to all device on 192.168.1.0 with no issue and also get to the internet.
Here is the issue: I cannot ping any device on 192.168.2.0 segment.
What do I have to change in the router to be able to ping from 192.168.1.100 to devices on 192.168.2.0 segment.
Any help would be appreciated

| Sounds as if you need to change the subnet mask. With a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (which is set on that model router by default) your two segments would be on different networks. | |

| Take a look at this to see if it helps solve your problem.
I realize the link isn't for your setup exactly, but as it suggests, it might work for your setup.

| i did setup the routers on the same network and all is working.
i did want to have two seperate segments
192.168.1.1 gateway to internet and second router hooked off of this.
192.168.1.2 second router hooked off the first.
this worked except that i can not ping anything from 1.1 on segment 2. when i ping all of the traffic goes to the internet.

| you need a route in your routing table that tells all traffic destined for network 192.168.2.0 to use the gatweay 192.168.1.2. I don't know whether your model of Linksys router supports this, but you can add static routes to your windows workstations using the ROUTE command. | |
