Good question. D-Link's web site says the 500 is no longer supported and the last firmware revision is for U.S. system only.
The DSL 502G is supported but with DSL it still depends on what your Telco will allow to be hooked to their DSLAM's. Some look for a specific model of modem and remotely program a certification tag into it. Your best bet is to call your provider and work it out with them.
Oh this URL links to all of D-Links products

Good luck. | |

You don't. It's a router not a DSL "modem."

Nope it is both, follow the link in my previous message. The D-Link DSL line are ADSL modems with or without DHCP server capability and with or without switches. They are popular outside of the U.S.

Even so I would say the odds are good that he can't use this ADSL "modem" with his service. There is no ADSL standard as with cable modems. Verizon has it's perferred CPE, as does COVAD, as does WorldCom, as does SBC, etc.

Yup again that is why they are discontinued. The 502G is multiprotocol but they are still not popular in the U.S. Outside of the country things are more of a monopoly and standardized. Please note that this guy is in Malaysia |
