| ok I have a question I never really thought about until recently.
Technically speaking does the floppy drive controller have 2 channels since it is capable of supporting an A and B drive or is there another term?
Thanks. | |

| umm interesting question.
the older floppies had 5 wires that were twisted between the two connectors. the twisted wires were connected to the end connector or the A drive. the B drive was on the middle connector or the one closet to the MB.
so i think it would be fair to say that there were 2 channels in the cable.
also before, if you had one drive, it had to be connected to the end plug. but nowadays, it doesnt matter. | |

| And the winner is prezbedard Uh guys the original PC 1981-82 had one 8 bit card with very big chips by todays standards which supported two drives. Today we would call that a channel. | |
