I am sick of having to shell out so much for black and color inkjet cartridges all the time. I want to upgrade to a laser printer and sell my deskjet all-in-one printer. I don't want to go much over $200 and of course the cheaper the better. I want high quality output. So any suggestions?

I use a brother 1240 laser at home. have it for hmmmmm 4 years? prolly well over 10k pages.

it looks cool, good size paper tray and the way it comes out is nice. none of the silly ugly things other home laser try to be... like see through with weird paper loader that's exposed to dust and stuff.

I exepct their current model 1440, which is around 180 bucks to be pretty much the same.

A Quality Laserprinter for $200.00 ???
Let me know, if you find one, i buy a couple myself.
Honest:
It is hard to find a good Laserprinter for under $500.00 these Days, if you find one for about $199.00, they are mostly Junk.
They will have to cut prices, and build them with cheap parts.

I sold a couple of Minolta 2300DL Color Laser Printer
and my Customers are extremely happy with this Printer. ( actually considering one for myself, as i am getting tired of re-filling Inkjet cartridges)

Good luck to you and let us know, which Model you bought.

Deja, when I say quality, I don't mean a professional business quality printer that will handle a ton of print jobs. Just something that will be reliable and produce laser quality output for a home user. That Brother printer that mikop suggested looks good...

otherwise, good deal. 120 bucks I will buy just to check it out.

and honestly... coming from inkjet, poor laser quality would be good quality...

how any one can use inket as their everyday printer is beyond me.

I think that the aug 31 date has been recycled again because Fry's is advertizing them again this weekend with the $70 rebate. At 15,000 pages per month duty cycle and 16 ppm speed, Samsung must be using it to break into the market.

office max, staples, etc , minolta pagepro 1250W laser printer. $70 rebate

may worth checking between samsung and this.

laser printing is old technologies, even tho I love my brother, but at 130 bucks, it may very well worth a look... how bad can it possibly be. all the components/technologies should be tried and true... and it has pcworld's best buy so that's a +. worth reseraching the review.

it is a freaking ugly printer tho

I've been lucky, as I have a Lexmark Optra S 1855, which has worked quite well for me over the last 3 years. I doubt that you'll find one of them new for less than $500 and used lasers are risky.

I've heard a number of bad things about the Samsung and NEC laser printers. Perhaps it was a QC issue, but a laser printer at inkjet prices does make me wonder.

Cheers,
TB
