| What brand of laptop do you recommend?
price range less than $1500
No Dell - too big and too pricy...
I like iMac, but don't work well with rest of the world..

| I bought 4 of them for my Customers right here and am really happy.
You can customize the Laptop to your liking, and the Salesstaff is very helpful.

| What do you want the laptop to do? There are a lot of great laptops in that price range from Dell, HP, Gateway, Pro-Star, Acer, Sony...and more and more.
I wish I would have waited a few months because the new Pentium-m chip is awesome. It is rated slower in clock speed but it rocks in benchmarks and battery life.

| I like IBM however those laptops are picky with parts and the laptops themselves are a bit pricey. | |
|
| XT was one of my consideration, so do Sony and HP.
The notebook will be serve as 2nd PC function on the trip and off-location duty station.
It can be heavy load on Graphic, documentation or internet something. I need a avg+ notebook. Very tough to decide what to pick.

I am looking into 15", not too big or small..
Easy to carry, my old notebook only have 10.4" with 8MB. It work, but too slow

| Now that I am working again and creating some cash flow, I've been looking into some gaming laptops. Anybody have any experience with Alienware notebooks? Check it out here
Definitely pricey, but I know they have excellent service and warranties.

| Oh... nice, but very very pricy...
I think avg notebook shall be in between $1300 to $1800, otherwise I will rather get PC..

| I'm a big toshiba fan. Still using my 2750 Sat that I got over 3 years ago. Sure the case is cracked to kingdom come, I need to go get a third battery for it, and well.. I've mucked around in it so many times, I don't have cap lock keys. I so voided the warrenty last year when I resoldered a part on the motherboard. I really must recommend Toshiba, but from what I hear mac's are pretty nice too I'm almost in the market for a newer one (not that a p3-600 isn't enough for me, but it's not very portable with the very cracked case), but I'll probally get something used or back from lease. | |
