I purchased an X-SuperAlien case for my system build.
It has two wires for temperature display on the CPU and the hard drive. Where do these wires connect in the system?
My motherboard is an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe.
I'm getting anxious to complete this build as it is my first try.

Thanks!

Thermistors (temperature dependant resistors). Look in the parts bag for the case and see if you have some wire with a connector on one in and a thin mylar strip on the other end. A little round ball on the end of the mylar is the thermistor. On goes under the CPU (be very careful) and one goes to the metal case of the hard drive.

If it does not include these then it is looking for a motherboard that brings these values to a header for external display. Only a very few motherboards do this. For disk drives it is an extension of SMART to read a drive thermistor. Again only some drives have internal ones as in new and top of the line.
