...but why are you hiding your Hard drive score?

Here my Server, XP2200, 1.5 Gigs Ram.

.... and my Workstation, Dual Athlon MP1500+, 1 Gig Ram

Don't know if I did this correctly, figures seem low but I have some daemons running.

XP2600 512Meg dual WD 80gig drives with 8meg buffers in a RAID 1 configuration.

edit: Hmmm the EN resizer apparently does not like office photoediter gifs. Lets try a jpeg

Not bad for my system which cost my about $500CAN 4 months ago. I have a 80GB Maxtor (with lots bad sectors), a 2100+ and 2*256 of Samsung ddr400.

I really like that unregisted watermark

Hey, I'm not hiding anything. The image just can't upload completely. Strangely why?

OK, here it is...

Alright Netchild1985 this is your fault. I thought my disk score sucked so I went looking for new drivers. I got a new via 4 in 1 for starters and new raid drivers. Disk speed went up but CPU and memory speed went down. This is one heck of a bunch of interactions going on. Now I won't be able to let this rest and I will end up trapped in a Forest Gump movie "stupid is as stupid does" duh.

Well now I don't know whether I should trust the copy of PCMARK that I have since it can't seem to identify my CPU correctly.
It is an XP2600 and this clock should be 2.13GHZ and it is .05GHz off.

Manufacturer: AMD
Family: Duron(tm)
Internal Clock: 2.08 GHz
Internal Clock Maximum: 2.08 GHz
External Clock: 133 MHz
Socket Designation: Socket A
Type: <unknown>
Upgrade: ZIF Socket
Capabilities: MMX, CMov, RDTSC, 3DNow!, Extended 3DNow!, SSE
Version: AMD Athlon(tm) XP
CPUID: 0x00000681

PC wizard 2003 gives me 2.131 GHz and
General Information :
CPU ID : 681
CPU IDEx : 781
Revision : B0
Model : AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+
Codename : Thoroughbred
Technology : 0.13µ

Sisoft Sandra also correctly identifies the CPU as a Thoroughbred 2600+ at 2.13GHz

Does PCMARK correctly identify the other CPU's out there. Deja what does it call your duals. I wonder if the program needs an update for CPU's past 2000+ or Thoroughbreds and Bartons in general.

curious'r and curious'r so no ACPI but yours says it has it.

CPU Score: 3471
Memory Score: 2353
HDD Score: 1054

Built the system about 14-15 months ago. Waiting for a few things before I build another. Like the price to fall on the new GeForce 5900 card.

And here's my server's benchmark...

PIII 1GHz, 2x256megs of PC133 RAM, 2x60GB Maxtor 7200rpm in RAID1(soft).

CPU Score: 2516
Memory Score: 1197
HDD score: 1012

Well it still can't identify the cpu correctly but after updating the detonator drivers, disk performance is better and the cpu mark and memory marks are creeping back up. Wierd driver interactions. since all other testers that I can find including CPUID correctly ID it I am going to quit now.

Problems with the RAID, mobo drivers, then I runned PCMark again, new result, you know...

Btw, at work(got a new job in an ISP) there are some Xeons waiting to be mounted in the racks and I'll see if I can benchmark them next week.

Haven't tuned it yet, but I like what it reads straight up :-)

Nice score, but can you post the specs.

ASUS P4P800 VM
P4 3G Processor
1024 DDR400
3DLabs Wildcat VP990 Pro (512MB Vid RAM)
SB Audigy II Soundcard
Deja-vue

2003-07-29, 6:56 pm

how much did you shell out for that Wildcat?

I understand it's more of a Developer Card than it is a Game-card?
RussS

2003-07-29, 11:59 pm

$1600 NZD.
I'm not a big gamer myself, and was considering a Radeon 9500 Pro but after building system to spec for a local graphic designer and seeing how things were rendered when using SolidWorks I decided that the Wildcat would be my choice for the new machine. Kind of cool running dual monitors too - when using an AGP and a PCI monitor you don't quite get the same effect.
Deja-vue

Ever tried 3 or 4 Monitors on one Machine?
You could do up to 10 Monitors.
