| Motherboard - Iwill DPI533 sata
Dual Xeon processors 2.4ghz
two 512 2700 ddr ram
Cant get computer to start up, it does not even bring up the monitor.
The old motherboard fried, and I got a new one. It fried right at the video card you could see it on the bottom of the board and the case. The video card is still good, The power supply is good. Tried different ram, tried running it on one processor, everything just produces the same result.
Only thin I have not tried is replacing the processor, but I dont think that it would have taken out both processors when the last motherboard died. The fans all start turning, but nothing to the hard drives, and nothing from the video.
Any suggestions would be grately appreciated.
Thanks

| Are u getting any POST errors (hear any beeps)?
If u aren't getting anything on ur monitor, are u sure the video card is good? Did u test it on another machine?
Did ur old mobo have dual processors?
Is your power supply powerful enough?
Just some things to check. Hope that helps. | |

| Yeah
It doesn't post, and no beeps.
The power supply will power it, its a 550 watt. The old motherboard was a dual processor. I have tested the video card in another machin, and tested two other video cards on the machine. I have tested a new power supply and different ram. I have tried resetting the jumpers, and unless the motherboard was just a bad board it should be good as well. I have swapped around processors trying to see if maybe it will boot from one or the other. And I don't have another machine to test the two processors on. So I am probably just going to get a p4 board and processor and just use that. Because I can't narrow it down to just one part.
Thanks

| Well unless you blew both processors it sounds like you have a bad motherboard. Can you not exchange it? | |

| Well I probably could, but we have already had the clients computer for about 2 weeks, so it would be another week atleast before the board got back to us. And then if it did turn out to be the processors, would be even longer.
I will send the board back as well and see if Ican get the processors to work and then just use it in another machine.

| Uggh, I keep forgetting that not everyone lives in an area that has so many distributors and stores around that you can just walk in and get another one in 30 minutes. |
