Q on monitor testing?

| I just received a monitor from my friend. She user told me it turn bluish and greenish... It sound to me that the screen saver kill the screen!
What is your comment? Suggestion?

| Sounds like they had a magnet close to the screen.
I went on a service call one time with the same problem. I immediately asked if she had any magnets close to the screen, and sure enough, she did. | |

| If it is the same all over the screen and not in splotches then you have lost the red signal. Normally this is a cable of smashed pin problem. Flex the cable near the computer end and near the end where it goes into the monitor. Generally it is the video card (computer) end. | |

| after the switch on Monitor and cable...
Video card is the problem... need to get a new one. But what cause the sudden failure on the video card will remain unknown....

| OK... The monitor just went out.. Guess the monitor and the video card mess up. I don't know how she did it, but fancy screen saver is bad. | |

The screen saver does protect against burned in images of course. |
