Hi,
I have a HDD which is detected Western Digital 40Gb but unreadable, the fat table seems corrupted, there is a large amount of photos on the drive. There is a multitude of recovery softwares out there, but I think if I mess too much t\with this drive, I might screw things up and loose my chances - so I cannot venture in trying various programs... I would like some advice if anyone has done this successfully with a particular type of program. Granted there are many situations causing this, all I know is that the fat table is corrupted.

cheers!

Best consumer-available Software comes from these Guys , hands down.
Saved my butt multiple times, but it is costly.
I got the Commercial Version, and it set me back $899.00 some 2 years ago.The first two Jobs paid for it, though.

I completely agree. Their software has saved me multiple times too. The software paid for itself after about 3 jobs!

I have used ERD Commander
many times and it has worked great for me.

Hi - thanks for this lead. Actually I finally used Easy recovery pro and I got nearly 3GB worth of pictures back! I was surprised to see how fast it did the work too

cheers!
