642-501 SDM questions

| I wrote this exam and all went well. I did want to mention that there were five or six questions on a subject not specified in the exam objectives and it's not in either of the text books I used to study from. It came as a bit of a surprise but I used educated guesses and must have done ok as I managed to pass the exam. However, I did want to warn those of you who are still to write.
The subject is the Security Device Manager (SDM) and information on it can be found at this URL:

Good luck to all! | |

| Congrats on passing.
Regarding the questions on SDM, could be that cisco is beta-testing those questions for inclusion in a different exam.
In any case, thanks for the tip cos I'll be writing this exam in 2 weeks.

| I suppose the beta theory is a possibiltiy. I've gone to the Cisco Press site and had a look at the index for the 642-501 Self Study book and the topic isn't listed anywhere there!
Some of the things to know are what protocols you can use to connect to the SDM, the command to use to ensure that the required SDM files are installed, the URL used to access the SDM and the method used to send your SDM configuration to the router.
Good luck! |
