Author VPN EXAM (511)Questionable?

Am I the only one who finds that the VPN exam was poorly written and the scoring questionable?

I took the VPN Exam today and Failed. This was my second attempt. My first try I got a 79x and there were some questions I honestly did not know the correct answer. I review those topics, took the exam again and failed with a lower score!

Now, I'm not only upset that I failed but also frustrated because I don't know what to study. The test question was almost identical to the first with a couple of duplicate questions which I found odd.

Throughout both exams I commented on the quality and wording of the questions, maybe I pissed someone off.

Material I used to Study.
CCSP VPN Study guide, Cisco Press (covers 20% of test)
Network Security Principle and Practice (detail coverage of IPSec)
VPN 3002 Configuration Guide PDF
VPN 3000 Configuration Guide PDF
VPN3030 in a lab
VPN3005
Pix 501
ACS 3.1
Microsoft Certificate Server with SCEP.

Any feedback is welcome because if I take the test again, I going to respond with exactly the same answers and fail.

I'm agree with you, VPN exam is very hard, not really with its strange questions but with the lack of study guide.
The CCSP VPN book is not enough to obtain this exam.
the docs from this link : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products...ursw/index.html are at the same level than the book, I didn't read yet all the pdf (about 27Mo on 60 include the VPN 3000 concentrator reference), perhaps I will find the answers to my failed exam...

So, if I fail one more time, I will buy the VPN course book on ebay. I would have to buy it after my fail but I didn't know

You are right! I think the same, but I passed in the firt time I did the exam.

I study by using Cisco Press books. I was too helpful. All the topics of the exam was covered. In addition I used the Boson test simulator with a little experience around VPN.

Before I tryed the VPN exam, I did the MCNS and PIX exam. I'm sure it helped me either.

yeah book is the base of learning for each CCSP exam, but I regret that cisco didn't go deeper inside the topics.
In fact, cisco leaves some tips out of the book, and when you see some questions about these tips....

I think I will go on to buy Cisco self study books but I will prepare myself to see something else during the exam

I finished the security specialization for a while. First I'll take CCNP and CCIP and finally the CCIE Security.

There's a lot of book to buy...

I agree with you 100%. I took the VPN test and found errors. I found 2 of the same questions and an incomplete question. I knew it was an incomplete question since I had seen it before on a Boson test with the same question and answers, but the question was missing the key technology word.
