| Just to help the folks, those want to have 9e0-111 before 17th June...
1.Read syngress book page by page...
2.Boson test 1(good), 2, and 3 (all are good to test the knowledge and to have a feel of exam)
3. Hand-on with PIX.
try to clear few confussions :
when and what password is required
e.g. SSH and AAA not working cond'n.
also be prepare to face few questions on FWSM, Maintenance Centre and Auto update server which are the objectives for the incoming PIX exams.

| Dear Friends,
I took the CSPFA exam one week back but I scored 808 and could not pass the exam. I faced really hard questions which are not covered by Cisco Press Books. Can you people give any suggestion regarding any book which can help me more. I faced lot of questions regarding:
=PDM
=AUS
=MC
=Virtual telnet and fttp
All those questions I can not remember at this moment. If anyone can help me I would appreciate.

| I think all answers are in the book but you must look for the details, for example the static commands.
In the book there's only basic cmd : static (inside,outside) ip ip ...
but when you check all options there're
interface for overload
max connections
embryonic limit
etc ...
with all others cases like
static ... ip1 ip2
or
static ... ip1 ip1
So it's clear that this book don't have a lot of details
But we aren't babies 
All informations are in the book, just be sure you want to find and understand them. | |

| Sorry but not all the answers are in the book. The exam includes AUS in great detail, not the 20 lines in the Cisco Press Book, also Pix MC isn't in the book, neither Multicast and FWSM.
I think Pix Book from Cisco Press is a waste of money (and it's overpriced).
Syngress book is better but doesn´t cover FWSM and AUS. | |

| You are right. Not only buying the book is a waste of money. Rather it misguides the students because the 200 questions accompanied with the CD don't go near the real exam questions. Multicast is not covered, PPPoE is not covered. PDM questions I faced were no where near the book. So, Cisco should think immediately whether this can be a text book. Thanks to you people for your concern.
I have ordered for a Syngress book. Let me see how it will help me. | |

| Thanks everyone for your input and openess. I will be sure to pass on to everyone else (after I attempt the exam) as you have done for me. FWMS, Maintenance Centre, Auto update server...these are things not covered in the Cisco Press book and not anything I have encountered while working with PIX's in the last year. It's news to me and I'll be sure to investigate them further. Thanks for the hints, much appreciated. | |

Have passed 9E0-111 and got 875. More than 10 not-so-hard questions about FWSM+MC+AUS.
1 basic simulation.
IMHO - I was positively surprised doing CSPFA exam - because BOSON a little bit exaggerates in memorizing PixOS commands. OK, point is in "a little bit"

| I wrote it yesterday and passed. Thought I had failed. I did get some questions about AUS, MC And FWMS that I had no idea what to answer. Rk8 was pleasantly surprised for the lack of PIX OS questions, I was not.
What I was tested on:
Failover - heaps more than I thought I would get
PDM - not many, surprised
One Sim - which was so easy - don't forget to wr mem before you move on (just to be sure)
PPPoE
VPN
AAA questions were relatively simple
Downloadable ACL's (3 Q- know how this works)
NAT and PAT - the little differences
Know when and how to use a TFTP server with the PIX
DHCP
MC - asked me about one command, I had no idea
AUS - no commands asked, no GUI, general questions - shame I was ready for this!
FWSM - a ridiculously specific question about bus speeds, I had no idea
I prepared using Syngress (EXCELLENT book, if you don't read this from cover to cover then you're not doing yourself justice). Boson exam 2 was helpful as well. Also used Cisco's web site and read Q&A's, product descriptions regarding AUS and FWMS (helpful in understing how and what but maybe nothing that was tested...still).
I thought this exam was very difficult. I have been building and supporting several models of PIX's for the past year. I have had lots of experience with VPN set ups and this REALLY helped. There was ample time to finish the exam. Cisco exams are challenging, to say the least, you all know this from taking the CCNA. Prepare equally as well here and get some hands on experience. You can't get away from this, it is necessary. I hope this helps.  Good luck to everyone yet to write. Thanks to those who have shared previously. | |

| Hey all, my question is if this exam is expiring will the Syngress book that everyone is singing praises about going to be enuff to take the exam? I have gone over some of the links that Shinji57 provided but most of them are coming up as broken links. Shinji57 can you provide some more links please?

Any Idea about questions on FWMS, MC, AUS ?
Are they only basic questions? Some examples?
What kind of simulations are there ?
Does any one have BOSON practice tests? Can you share it with me please?
