Hi ..

Any one knows if IEV can be accessed through a web browser (same like ciscoworks2000) and what port is might use?

Thanks

Hello mtoka ,
To use ids event viewer you have to enable it from the sensor first then use it through web browser . HTTPS or SSL is used to access IEV . On the browser type https://ids-ip-address , don,t put any port number . It will ask from you to accept the certificate and then you will enter user name and password .

Thanks haseeb_eng, but what you are talking about is IDM (IDS Device Manager).

IEV (IDS Event Viewer) is installed on a PC (not the sensor). I would like to know if i can put the IP of that PC in a browser and access the IEV remotely.

Thanks

I believe you have to download the event viewer, configure it and access it through the event viewer software.

During my search, I didn't come across any Cisco documentation that mentioned that, so I'm not sure if it is possible.

ooops i think so i was in hurry thats why did,nt read the question properly . I appologize for giving the wrong information .
On IEV i had worked just once and it was not web based like CSPM . CSPM i had tried to access through internet explorer but it did,nt worked at all . I think so same case will be with IEV , but i am not sure .
