how many hours a day to study for mcse?

| Hello everyone! I'm currently studying for my first test, 70-290, for the MCSE. I've experience in desktop support for the last 5 years, with some knowledge of networking. I would like to assess the member here regarding each person's experience in the Microsoft field so I would be able to assess myself as well to better prepare for the tests.
1. how many years of IT works have you been in, and what do you do for a living?
2. Which test of the MCSE are you currently studying and which have you passed?
3. how many hours do you devote yourself to studying? How long will it take to finish? weeks? months?
I hope my request would help others who are curious as well.

| I did thought about persuing the MCDST, but decided against it because I am seeking a job in system admin., and would hope that getting at least some MCPs would help me lend some interviews. | |

| well adviced...I do have some experience in administering users, and maintaining the servers for some times...just not enough to feel confident...I feel that I could take and pass these exams. I'm kind of tired of the desktop support jobs and move on to a higher ground. may I ask what

| I'd have to agree with zenboy's plan. Since you have 5 years experience in desktop support, getting your MCDST wouldn't help if you wanted a job as an admin. I guess it would only help if you wanted a better paying desktop support job and it required the MCDST or something. Your experience should be more than sufficient though.
Make the MCSA your short term goal and MCSE your long term goal. Good luck!  | |

| you are correct in that, baka_baka. I feel that I'm currently have reach a peak of knowledge in my position as desktop support, and am eagered to expand my knowledge into networking. |
