Server 2003 - Command Line "Stuff"

While reading the MS Press 70-290 book, I've noticed that they reference a lot of command line especially when it comes to users and groups.

Is it necessary to understand these commands up one side and down the other? Or just a general understanding of what the commands do sufficient for the test?
