OK, I am about a week away from taking 70-216 and after I slay the Beast for my MCSA, I will be taking 70-297 to complete my MCSE, there is only one problem. I can't seem to find the forum for the 70-297 exam. Who do I contact to have one created or is there a way I can do it. I assume that the second option is a "no" so how do I petition the powers that be to get the 2003 AD design exam on board...

Thanks,

RM

Good idea. I wish it comes to reality very soon.

Hear Hear!!

I agree we definatelly need a forumn for 70-297, I am busy working through the MS Training guide for this at the moment, but could really benefit from communicating with like people on this one.

I have had a look at the demo Transcender for this exam, and am considering buying the complete copy of the Transcender to help prepare for this. Anyone used this, got any views on it?

To the powers that be, please consider our plight!

Still here, have not taken it yet. Scheduled for Thursday, its my third appointment, we have a nationwide domain rollout which has been consuming all of my time. I have the transcenders for this exam and I got an 812 on Exam B last night which is fairly promising although Transcender calls this a "Fail", go figure. I have heard som brutish things about this exam but then again, anyone who fails an exam wil cry the blues because it is not thier fault... right

Has anyone taken it yet, any recommendations...

Still here as well, been out on customers sites, studies have been neglected. Got some time to crack on with this now. I started working through the Transcenders for this exam yesterday, didn't go as bad as I had expected. Anyone used these? Anyone taken this exam and got any tips or pointers on it?

Good luck for Thursday Mcmoe, one thing I have heard is that the exam time is far too short and that you need to keep an eye on this.

Anyone know what the passmark is for this exam?

Passing Mark is 700.

The Transcender is almost identical to the actual exam. The format of the exam is a bit jerky. There is a left side bar with access to all of the scenario data. Keep in mind that the first item for each testlet is the instructions not a question so when you start on item 2 of 12, that is actually the first question. Time allowed was 130 minutes and each testlet is individually timed and you ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO BACK. This is very annoying but there really was no need to go back to previous items since there really was no overlap. There were several questions about DNS forwarding and disabling recursion (actually disabling root hints).

I don't want to go into it too much so I don't spoil it for anyone or violate the NDA. Lets just say that my last two exams before this were 219 and 216. This one was marginally more difficult than 216 but only due to the fact that it was my first 2003 exam which contains a lot of "new" material. In all actuality, if you have passed 216, 217 and 219, this one is really not too hard, the main difficulty is the length and breadth of material (this is really 219 and 221 combined for 2003). I used the Transcender and the MS Press book and felt adequately prepared.

I assume then that you passed McMoe?! Well done. Thanks for the feedback, that sets my mind at ease a bit that I am approaching this the right way, been using the transcenders and MS press book as well, glad to hear that it worked for you. Looks like I will only get to write at the end of the month, have work commitments getting in the way, as per usual. At this rate I will be doing my 7 year doctrite in Microsoft

Got to keep going, only 2 more to go, and now they are getting interesting.
