| Hi all, this is my first post on this particular forum. I am almost 2k mcse (2 more exams) As soon as i get my 2k done i am going to tackle the 2k3 upgrades, I am curious if any of you used this MS press book. It kind of concerns me that the book is kinda messy in the way they put their objectives. In other words it is not set up for you to read and then do 292, then read and then do 296. Portions of both exams are spread throughout this book.. Did you guy's find this a concern? Did you skip around?? What do you recommend?
thanks

| You could do it one of two ways.
Read the whole first part of the book, then use the second part of the book to review for 292, then 296 respectively. (I am rereading the entire first part of the book again, even though I covered a lot of chapters for 299 beta and I already have my MCSA 2003.)
Or go directly to the second part of the book and follow that outline to guide you through which sections and excercises to read. (I did this for the 299 beta.)
The book is structured this way because it cover two exams that have several objectives in common. The alternative would be to have a 292 section that covers 292 material, then a 296 section that covers 296 material, but would have to restate or refer to the material in common with 292. Not very efficient!
Consider that you are likely preparing for both exams. If you work through the entire first part of the book, it won't hurt you when you sit for 292 and it will certainly help you when you sit for 296. Good Luck! | |

| I guess that seems reasonable, considering all i did was complain about the redundance when doing my core 4 for 2k,
I still have a month or so before i tackle it, (SEC+, and 220 first), I will take your suggestions into consideration
